2005 April 01

APRIL, 2005 From the pastor Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the last newsletter we talked about New Year's Resolutions. Mine was to take a special interest in the young people of our church. I have personally met with them three times and felt each meeting to be a special blessing for us all. I gave them the opportunity to write down any questions they might have concerning God and His word. Their subjects varied, from creation to baptism. The most requested subject was, How do I know I am saved and what to do about it? I appreciate the parents suppor ...

JANUARY, 2005 From the pastor The coming of a New Year affords us all the opportunity to approach 2005 with great hope and anticipation. I have asked every member to make at least one New Year's resolution concerning their walk with Jesus Christ. Whether it is to be more faithful to God's house, to sing louder, to pray more consistently or to be faithful to God's word, it is certainly an endeavor worthy of our attention. I have heard it said that sharing our resolutions with family and friends helps us to be faithful to them. I announced to our church that my New Year' ...

JULY, 2004 From the pastor Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I have been greatly encouraged by the attendance over the last few months. Some of our members have come in and lost their seats! We thank the Lord for this increase and I encourage each one to continue to invite and bring others to God's house. What is happening at DONALDSON Since the time of our last newsletter we have added a Sunday night service. I have been greatly encouraged by the interest our church has shown towards these services. Each meeting has been well attended. E ...

JANUARY, 2004 From the pastor Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we approach the New Year, let us be thankful for the Lord's blessings this past year and pray for His guidance in the days to come. We have been greatly blessed at Harmony Church. I have been encouraged by the good attendance we have seen over the past few months, as well as the increase in the number of families that are staying for lunch. We read in Acts 2:46 where the first Christians continued, "daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their ...

July, 2003 From the pastor Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Since our last newsletter, the war against Iraq has ended and many of our troops have come home. Let us remember to thank our Lord for this blessing, by ending this war quickly with few casualties. On Wednesday, June 18th, an article appeared in the paper which is worthy of notice. It seems that the plaintiff in the historical Roe vs. Wade abortion case filed for a motion to overturn the landmark verdict which passed in 1973. Norma McCorvey publicly identified herself as Jane Roe in 198 ...

January, 2003 From the pastor Greetings in the name or our Lord Jesus Christ. Another year has come and gone and as we approach 2003, it is a blessing to know that our Lord will be with us in the new year. There is a song in our book which begins with these words, "Thus far the Lord has led me on, thus far his power prolongs my day." As we approach the new year, I find these words to be of great comfort for if our eyes are open, we know it is by the Lord's mercy and grace that we have made it "thus far". It is g ...

JULY, 2002 From the pastor Greetings in the name or our Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful for the good attendance we are experiencing at Harmony Church as well as the many visitors that the Lord has sent our way. I appreciate the hospitality our membership has shown our guests. When I talk to our visitors, they always tell me how warm and friendly our people are to them. I believe that the testimony of the local Church is greatly impacted by the kindness the membership shows to its guests. As Paul wrote, "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have e ...

APRIL, 2002 From the pastor Greetings in the name or our Lord Jesus Christ. We come to you with a thankful heart for God's blessings upon us. We have several new members and the Lord's presence is felt among us. I encourage each member to pray that the Lord will continue to add to our little flock and enable us to minister to their needs. These blessings followed our messages on ministering to one another as we learned that every member is a minister. I believe the Lord is well pleased when He observes members becoming more like Jesus Christ as they minister to one anot ...

HARMONY NEWSLETTER July 2001 From the pastor Greetings in the name of our great Lord Jesus Christ. We have much to be thankful for. Our annual meeting was very blessed. I have received several letters and phone calls from ministers and visitors expressing the blessing they received at the meeting. We enjoyed visitors from our sister churches, friends and family in the immediate area, as well as brothers and sisters from several states. Every sermon seemed to be blessed. During the meeting I observed children asking preachers questions, I saw people ...

APRIL 2001 From the pastor We have enjoyed good attendance by our membership during the winter months. Even though the weather has been bad, our people have shown a faithful commitment to God's house. I am also thankful for the many visitors we are having. I appreciate the evangelistic efforts of our membership as they have invited friends and relatives to worship with us. It was Andrew, Peter's brother, who brought Peter, the man who would preach the great sermon at Pentecost, to see Jesus. He said, "We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. JANUARY 2001 From the pastor Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. For quite some time I have wanted to communicate with our church, visitors and friends by way of a pastoral letter. I hope it will serve as an encouragement to you all as well as a catalyst to keep us all of one heart and mind as we serve the Lord. A new year, as well as a new millennium is upon us. It seemed a fitting time to remember past blessings as well as a time to consider some new years resolutions. The first Sunday of this year, I began a series of messages entitled, "New Yea ...
