"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."-2 Peter 2:1-3

Our third mark of the false prophet is perhaps the most prominent of them all. They will always be found, "denying the Lord that bought them." This is the crux of it all, to deny Christ's claim as to His deity, to dethrone Him and elevate man or their prophet. This is cleverly attempted with their new light, new doctrines, new bible and new revelations, all of which, was, and is, unknown by God and the original apostles. Jesus is presented in their writings as anything less than God. They will present our immaculate and impeccable Lord as the brother of Satan; a prophet equal to their own; one of the many gods they hope to be; or just a good man. Yet, any of these doctrines would make Jesus a liar, for He declared Himself to be God manifested in the flesh.

Someone must be a liar, either Christ and His apostles, or the false prophet. We will let the original Bible, which they say agrees with their own, answer the question: "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."(1 John 2:22). Antichrist is anyone or anything that denies that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. The word "Christ", means, THE ANOINTED MESSIAH or GOD MANIFESTED IN THE FLESH. To make Jesus a brother of Satan makes him less than God for every angelic being is a creation of God, not coeternal with God. God's word declares that Jesus Christ, "Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they ... And let all the angels of God worship him."(Hebrews 1:4,6). This was the original posture of every angelic creation, Satan included, before his fall.

To make Jesus as ‘one of the prophets' is to make Him a man, sinful, in need of a Savior Himself. In his book, "Evidence That Demands a Verdict", Josh McDowell makes this interesting, yet accurate, observation: "If Jesus was not God, then He deserved and Oscar" and then he writes, "Jesus was a SuperSavior, not a Superstar." So it must be, one or the other, Jesus was either God or an imposter. If He was an actor, He performed feats that would make Barnum and Bailey's performers, as well as the Great Houdini, look like novices. Concerning His claims, if He was less than God, He was a sham, a hoax and a liar to boot…not a good man. Yet, we know, that there is only One, without sin, who can rise from the dead. Only Christianity claims an empty tomb for its founder. Christians have no grave to visit for their Lord ever lives and they commune with Him daily. He is the God that died and is alive for evermore (Revelation 1:18), for He rose victoriously from the grave. Death, hell and sin have no power over Him. And He has released the elect of God from their grasp as well by His vicarious suffering. Those who deny Jesus as Christ have made their claim. They need no physician, no Savior, they have no sin to repent of or to be saved from. There is no Spirit within them to condemn their hearts and Jude describes them as "sensual, having not the Spirit". If there are any of God's people among them we say, "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." –Revelation 18:4b.

4: And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: The false prophet makes special promises that appeal to the sinner. Covetousness appeals to us all. The false prophets promises special worlds to be had and ruled by his people, women and riches, carnal delights. To obtain all of this the member must do certain things: give his life or move up the ranks by degrees. Jesus warned against this as well. The greatest became the servant unlike the gentile kings. And etc.

Merchandise: something sold for profit. Your pocketbook belongs to them. What is given them could be used for genuine evangelism. Your heart belongs to them. Your life belongs to them. Your hopes belong to them.
